Welcome to La Palma Dance, where instruction is dedicated to club-style SALSA (on 1 and 2) and FUN! Instructors Ernesto Rivera and Kim Allen provide patient and professional lessons in Latin dance. All scheduled classes are group formatted, though private sessions are available upon request. Ernesto and Kim can also provide instruction in Bachata, Merengue, Cha-cha-cha, and Rumba.

About the Instructors

• Ernesto Rivera

  Ernesto Rivera began performing and choreographing his unique style of Latin club dancing at the tender age of ten. Although a trained professional ballroom dancer, Ernesto prefers to specialize in his native Latin dances. In addition to dance, Ernesto is an accomplished percussionist, and has accompanied on congas many famous salsa bands. As a Pro/Am performer/choreographer/competitor, Ernesto's students have consistently placed in the top positions. Most recently, Ernesto performed at the Borgata Hotel and Casino with Emily Cortez, the former Miss Hispanic Alliance of Atlantic County. Many of Ernesto's students are dancing in the clubs after only a few lessons.

• Kim Allen

  Kim Allen is a professional teacher with a passion for Salsa and many styles of dance. Kim and Ernesto have been Salsa partners for over ten years. Kim brings to lessons the patience of an elementary school teacher, the gracefulness of a former ballet dancer, the high energy of a former professional "clogger", the musicality of a musician, the ability to fine tune students' movements for better connection and Latin presentation, and, of course, ladies' styling.
